Round & Around
Chris Dahlgren was born in New York, NY on Nov. 13, 1961. He began with music on the cello at the age of 6, and later switched to the bass. The beauty of this collaboration with Jan was to finding some moments that really meant something for us. I remembered my first scare during a movie. The first love. Adolescence. One of the films for which I have skipping from school. The first popcorn at a series B movie. But also the first film composers that sparked my interest in this field. First meeting with the music of Vangelis, Michel Jarre, Francis Lai, Vladimir Cosma, Mancini, Morricone, or extraordinary meeting with the art of Kurt Weill. And now with JB.
So...JB...Thank you so much for this idea of collaboration!
JB, or Jan Boerlage, is a very kind person from Netherlands. I followed his work for a long time... but... apart of all these he began writing music at age 11 and in the same time he started DJ-ing and be active in this area for an extended period. After his journey through life took a small detour. like of mine also, he came back, and now his work can be found on Mixcloud.
I recommend it!

The End of Tapes Album
I still have two tape recorders (magnetophones), and many magnetic tapes with music that I listened in the old days of '70 - '80. But always at the end of these magnetic tapes I record all sorts of things, small songs made by me, recordings with my band, or strange noises.
Here in the '70 the most common magnetic tapes they were ORWO (produced in DDR - Deutsche Demokratische Republik), AGFA and BASF.
I disbanded the erasing head of my magnetophone and make some overlay but with obvious loss in sound quality. It was fun in those years to use the standard speed 4,7/9,5/19 cm/s, to change the speed with my finger directly on the tape, or turn pieces of tape and stick them with gutter. Now I have recovered these tape ends and I mixed with other pieces done digitally in last years, or unfinished songs.
I found a recording with me at age 3 in which I repeat over and over with a very creepy voice "youuu're in a booox of doooolls' ... so...this was in my head when I mixed all.

So.. let Josh tell us a few words about him and Transonic...
What is Transonic?
I'm Josh Johnson founder and principal of the multi-faceted production team Transonic. I work with a small network of talented people who specialize in creating custom music, sound design, graphic design, and video editing for various media. We work directly with clients to make their projects broadcast-ready. In addition to creating custom music, we recently compiled a large library of songs which are ready for placement. We are a small, effective team.
What's New?
We are currently working on several projects including an hour-long documentary about an international music tour through Romania. Check out the Synergy Tour trailer on our website.
Also, we have just finished compiling a song catalog that we're very proud of. This collection from various bands and musicians is available for placement in commercial and feature media. The entire catalog is available for download for free on the "Music" page of the Transonic website. Please contact us for leasing details.
Finally, I've recently relocated from Minneapolis to New York. We will continue our current relationships and are excited to grow with our new East Coast relationships.

I used a "Irish Tin Whistle" (six-holed woodwind instrument / brass tubing) and an "Irish Bouzouki" (four course/eight string)... and a lot of improvisation.

RIVER OF FORGETFULNESS - Greek Song by Marius G.Mihalache
(piano version of an old composition of mine, with Greek influences).
Drinking from the river Lethe ("forgetfulness" or "oblivion") aused complete forgetfulness. Some ancient Greeks believed that souls were made to drink from the river before being reincarnated, so they would not remember their past lives.
The Rivers of Hades
In Greek mythology, Styx (Στυξ) is a river which formed the boundary between Earth and the Underworld, Hades. It circles Hades nine times. The rivers Styx, Phlegethon, Acheron and Cocytus all converge at the center of Hades on a great marsh. The other important rivers of Hades are Lethe and Eridanos.
N.A. Originally this song was born from an improvisation. where I used harmonies from the romantic period of music. (composed by me as a classical guitar style). In that time a Greek friend gave me a call. I am born in Romania, but it seems that one of my grandfathers was Greek. Somehow I felt the need to write some music with Greek influence. So ... I altered the musical range (mode) in which I composed that song for classical guitar. Beethoven and his predecessors certainly left us an ocean of inspiration in the zone of cult music. (I I think about music as universal drawn ... notation system, tone / semitone, ... rules of composition, and other things that often compel our imagination). But the ocean is alive for other reasons, in our case, secular music, traditional music versus cult music. I have no idea from where it comes this music... but sometimes I feel so. Thank you for listening.

Interviu Marius G.Mihalache
Poze facute intr-un moment (ultimul moment) in care eu m-am simtit in pielea mea, unul din acele momente in care aparatul foto nu mai asculta de regulile sau principiile invatate, ci doar de o bucurie launtrica... ca a unui copil in fata necunoscutului. Este vorba despre miscare, caci imi place sa fotografiez din masina, sau din tren, din viteza. Este vorba despre drum, caci imi plac drumurile... si din fericire acesta a fost unul care mi-a placut unde m-a dus, respectiv premiera in Valcea a unei piese de teatru la care am compus muzica. Este vorba despre instantaneu, acel gen al fotografiei in care tu esti doar un observator al mediului inconjurator... asa cum mi-au fost si inceputurile. Fotografiile sunt facute prin geamul lateral al masinii si unele sunt decupate ca sa scot cadrul geamului, sau le-am mai rotit un pic, cu toate ca.. de fel...clar orizontul nu este o linie dreapta. "Son - travaux en cours..." este muzica la care am lucrat ultima oara si este tot un "instantaneu"...o improvizatie de moment.. o stare. Ea este folosita (nu toata) intr-un film de scurt metraj (12min) al carui montaj final il astept si eu.
( in completarea unui interviu aparut pe blogul Domnului Valeriu Onciu (Dungha Photography) ... respectiv intr-o suita de interviuri denumita generic "Picatura de vopsea" a carei tema principala este pasiunea... si de unde vine ea).
